Scott Pelley joins Creative Artists Agency after CBS exit
Former CBS News anchor Scott Pelley has signed with Creative Artists Agency following his departure from the network.
Scott Pelley, a former anchor for CBS News and "60 Minutes," has entered into representation with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). The move comes weeks after his contract with CBS was terminated following a disagreement with the program's new executive producer.
Pelley joins other former "60 Minutes" correspondents, including Lesley Stahl, who are also represented by CAA. The agency’s client list includes former CBS journalists Bill Owens, Cecilia Vega, Tanya Simon, and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
Pelley, who spent more than three decades at CBS, was dismissed on June 2 after a verbal exchange with the new leadership. In a statement to the New York Times, he criticized the recent management changes, saying the appointed personnel lacked television experience and that the newsroom had shifted in a direction he did not recognize.
"We have people who’ve been installed in these jobs who through no fault of their own have no experience in television," he said. "They don’t know what they’re doing."
Pelley expressed hope for a return to the previous editorial standards at the network.
