Ukrainian drone strike damages Black Sea terminal in Russia's Krasnodar region

Summary

A Ukrainian drone attack on a Black Sea export terminal in the Krasnodar region killed one person and injured three, according to local officials.

A Ukrainian drone hit a Black Sea export terminal in the village of Volna, Krasnodar region, killing one person and wounding three others, regional authorities said on Saturday. The strike caused debris to ignite a fire at the facility.

"Drone debris sparked a fire at a sea terminal," said Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Krasnodar.

Russian media reported damage to the terminal, which handles crude oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas. Ukraine’s military did not comment on the specific incident, but earlier it confirmed attacks on an oil preparation and pumping station in Volgograd region and on Russian-occupied areas in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier said Ukrainian forces had struck several military and energy sites deep inside Russia, including a factory in Cheboksary that produces components for Russian drones and missiles.

The incident follows a recent series of long-range drone and missile attacks by both sides, which have become a key element of the conflict as the front line remains largely static.
