Ubisoft cuts dozens of jobs at San Francisco studio amid wider restructuring
Ubisoft announced layoffs affecting up to 100 positions at its San Francisco office, adding to recent studio closures in Winnipeg, Belgrade and changes in Barcelona.
Ubisoft confirmed that a further round of layoffs is being implemented at its San Francisco studio, where between 50 and 100 roles are reported to be at risk. The cuts were disclosed during an internal meeting, part of a broader restructuring effort that also includes the closure of its Winnipeg and Belgrade studios and planned changes in Barcelona. Earlier this year, 45 employees were let go from the San Francisco office and Red Storm Entertainment in North Carolina. The San Francisco team had been responsible for the online shooter XDefiant. Ubisoft has not responded to requests for comment.
