Leaked Details Suggest iPhone 17 Air Will Feature Smaller Battery Than Previous Models

Apple's forthcoming iPhone 17 Air, expected to launch this fall, is rumored to feature a notably slim design but a smaller battery compared to other recent models. According to multiple sources, including leakers yeux1122 and Instant Digital, the device's battery capacity is expected to be around 2800mAh and "does not exceed 3000mAh." This figure is lower than the battery capacities of other iPhone 17 models, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max reportedly offering about 5000mAh and the iPhone 16 Plus featuring a 4,674mAh battery.

Despite the reduced battery size, Apple is said to be introducing measures to address battery life concerns. These include a new Adaptive Power mode in iOS 26 designed to extend battery performance, as well as a new battery case accessory for additional capacity. The iPhone 17 Air is also expected to have a larger screen, which may further impact battery demands.

The lower battery capacity may be a concern for potential buyers, especially those prioritizing battery life in their devices.
