Apple to Introduce New Features in Upcoming iOS 27 Update
Apple is set to reveal iOS 27 on Monday, showcasing a range of new features including updates to Siri, enhanced photo editing tools, and improvements to Apple Health and Wallet apps.
Apple will unveil iOS 27 at its WWDC kickoff event on Monday. The update is expected to significantly revamp Siri, introducing a standalone app with a chatbot interface, improved knowledge capabilities, and enhanced integration with third-party AI. Additionally, users will benefit from a more streamlined experience, allowing for multiple actions with a single request.
The Photos app will also receive three new AI-enhanced editing tools: Extend, which adds content beyond the original image frame; Enhance, which automatically improves image quality; and Reframe, enabling perspective adjustments in spatial photos. In a notable partnership, the Clean Up feature is set to improve through Google’s Gemini technology.
In the Camera app, new visual intelligence features will expand capabilities, including nutrition label scanning and direct contact capture. The Wallet app will introduce a ‘Create a Pass’ feature, allowing users to customize and generate digital tickets or passes based on QR codes. Users can expect various templates for different types of passes, enhancing the app's functionality.
Apple Health will see the addition of educational videos and AI-driven wellness suggestions, moving away from a previously planned subscription model. Although some of these features may debut later, their introduction signifies a push towards greater user engagement in health management.
Upgrades are also anticipated for the iOS keyboard, with grammar-focused autocorrect suggestions leveraging AI for improved typing support. Furthermore, Safari’s Tab Groups may feature an auto-naming capability that organizes tabs based on their content, aimed at enhancing user convenience.
These anticipated features reflect Apple's ongoing commitment to integrating advanced technology into its products as it prepares for the official announcement.
