Current polling indicates that Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer may emerge as leading contenders, with Becerra boasting extensive political experience and a campaign focused on protecting California from federal overreach, while Steyer emphasizes his commitment to combating special interests.
Republican Steve Hilton, endorsed by former President Trump, is also a contender, advocating for increased affordable housing and support for California’s tech and film sectors.
