Apple to Incorporate Samsung's Privacy Display Technology in Upcoming MacBook Pros
Apple is set to integrate Samsung's OLED panels and the Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display technology in its upcoming M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Pro models, with the launch expected in the coming months.
Apple is reportedly accelerating its timeline to adopt Samsung's OLED panel technology for its upcoming M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Pro models, integrating features from the Galaxy S26 Ultra, including the Privacy Display capability. This feature, which obscures lateral viewing angles, is achieved through a change in the display's liquid crystal layer.
Originally expected by 2029, the adoption of the Privacy Display tech is now anticipated much sooner, potentially coinciding with the launch of the M6 series. A tech tipster recently indicated that consumers may start seeing these privacy display panels on laptops shortly, specifically within the M6 MacBook and certain Windows devices.
It is noted that only the M6 Pro and M6 Max versions will feature OLED screens and the Privacy Display, while the standard M6 variant will continue to use a mini-LED display. The upcoming MacBook Pro models are also expected to include significant functional and design improvements, such as a dedicated vapor chamber and redesigned cooling systems. Some sources are even suggesting a possible name change to MacBook Ultra for these high-end variants, though this remains unconfirmed.
