100 Days Since Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance: Investigation Continues
Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC's 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for 100 days since her abduction from her Tucson home. The investigation remains active, with authorities seeking public assistance.
Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC's 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for 100 days since her abduction from her Tucson, Arizona, home on February 1, 2026. Despite extensive searches and investigations, her whereabouts remain unknown.
On the evening of January 31, Nancy was dropped off at her residence by her son-in-law around 9:48 p.m. Early the next morning, a masked individual was seen on surveillance footage at her doorstep, and her doorbell camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. By 2:28 a.m., her pacemaker monitor missed its scheduled transmission. Concern arose when she failed to attend a virtual church service later that morning, leading family members to report her missing.
The FBI released images of a potential suspect captured by the doorbell camera, describing the individual as a male of average build, approximately 5'9" to 5'10" tall, carrying a 25-liter black 'Ozark Trail Hiker' backpack. Authorities have received over 13,000 tips related to the case, but no suspects have been named.
In February, several gloves were found approximately two miles from Nancy's home. DNA analysis traced one glove to a local restaurant worker, who was subsequently cleared of involvement.
The investigation has also led to scrutiny of Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos. FBI Director Kash Patel alleged that the FBI was initially excluded from the investigation, a claim Nanos refuted, stating the FBI was notified promptly.
On Mother's Day, Savannah Guthrie renewed her plea for information, stating, 'We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you.' The family is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's recovery. Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
