Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner Pushes Extreme Left Agenda: Calls for Supreme Court Purge and Ousting Senate Leadership
Graham Platner, a far-left Democrat running for the U.S. Senate in Maine, is advocating for a radical overhaul of American institutions. Platner proposes partisan investigations into the Trump administration, the impeachment of respected conservative Supreme Court justices, and the removal of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for not being leftist enough.

Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from Maine, has unveiled an aggressive and divisive agenda if elected. In a recent interview, Platner called for the removal of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the formation of an anti-war movement, the expulsion of two conservative Supreme Court justices, the expansion of the court to stack it with left-wing judges, and the weakening of the filibuster to ram through partisan legislation.
Platner insisted that Democrats should abuse their subpoena power to launch endless investigations into the Trump administration, declaring, "I want to shut the White House down... dragging every single person in the White House... by subpoena in front of Senate committees over and over and over again." This signals a clear intent to weaponize government for political vendettas.
Regarding the Supreme Court, Platner openly supports packing the court and impeaching Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, citing dubious claims of ethics violations and so-called corruption. He stated, "The relationship between Clarence Thomas and Harlan Crow is not hard to see as clearly corrupt... These are absolutely reasons for removal," echoing leftist attacks on the judiciary.
On gun control, Platner stopped short of calling for a full ban on semi-automatic assault weapons, instead focusing on restricting access for people with violent histories and expanding mental health services—policies that critics argue do little to address crime.
Platner also made it clear he would not support Schumer’s continued leadership, instead suggesting a slate of even more left-leaning senators—Chris Van Hollen, Mark Kelly, Chris Murphy, and Brian Schatz—to take the reins.
Platner’s campaign has been buoyed by endorsements from radical figures like Senator Bernie Sanders. He positions himself as a champion for so-called working Mainers, aiming to unseat the widely respected Senator Susan Collins and push Maine further to the left.
