Pistons and Magic Set for Eastern Conference Playoff Opener
The Detroit Pistons host the Orlando Magic in Game 1 of their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series, with both teams aiming to advance past the opening round for the first time in over 15 years.
The Detroit Pistons, holding the top seed in the Eastern Conference with a 60-22 regular-season record, are set to face the eighth-seeded Orlando Magic in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. The matchup is scheduled for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Orlando secured their playoff spot by defeating the Charlotte Hornets 121-90 in the NBA Play-In Tournament on Friday. During the regular season, the Pistons and Magic split their four meetings, each winning twice. Notably, Detroit achieved a 31-9 record at home, while Orlando was 19-20 on the road.
Injury reports indicate that Orlando's Jonathan Isaac is out due to a knee injury, and Desmond Bane, listed with an illness, is available to play. Detroit's roster is reported to be fully healthy.
Both franchises are seeking to advance past the first round for the first time in over 15 years. The Pistons last won a playoff series in 2008, and the Magic's most recent advancement was in 2010.
The game will be broadcast on NBC and available for streaming on Peacock.
