Singer d4vd Arrested in Connection with Teen's Death
David Anthony Burke, known as d4vd, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose body was found in his car last year.
David Anthony Burke, the 21-year-old singer known professionally as d4vd, was arrested on Thursday by Los Angeles police on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. Rivas's dismembered body was discovered in September 2025 in the trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division took Burke into custody, and he is currently being held without bail. The case is scheduled for review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office on Monday to determine formal charges.
Rivas had been reported missing in April 2024 from Lake Elsinore, California. Her remains were found in a vehicle that had been impounded after being abandoned in Hollywood Hills. The discovery was made when tow yard workers noticed a strong odor emanating from the car.
Burke's attorneys have stated they will "vigorously defend" his innocence, asserting that evidence will show he did not cause Rivas's death.
Burke gained prominence in 2022 with his song "Romantic Homicide," which became a viral hit on TikTok.
