An American woman is missing after reportedly falling overboard during a boat trip in the Bahamas, according to local authorities. The Royal Bahamas Police Force stated that the woman and her husband, both U.S. nationals, departed from Hope Town for Elbow Cay around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in an 8-foot hard-bottom dinghy. During the journey, the woman fell into the water with the boat's keys, causing the engine to shut off. Her husband reported that strong currents carried her out to sea, and he lost sight of her. He then paddled the vessel to shore, arriving at the Marsh Harbour Boat Yard at approximately 4 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, he informed an individual who contacted the police. Authorities, including the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Hope Town Fire & Rescue, have initiated a search of the surrounding area. The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in locating the missing woman. Neither the woman nor her husband have been publicly identified.
