Oppo's Find N6 Sets New Standard with Near Crease-Free Foldable Display
Oppo's latest foldable smartphone, the Find N6, introduces a near crease-free display, setting a new benchmark in foldable technology.
Oppo has unveiled the Find N6, a foldable smartphone that significantly reduces the display crease, a common issue in foldable devices. The company achieved this by re-engineering the hinge and display, resulting in a surface variation of just 0.05mm, making the crease nearly imperceptible.
To accomplish this, Oppo redesigned the hinge system, laser-scanning each titanium hinge part to map surface variations. This data is used to 3D-print a liquid polymer that fills micro-gaps in the hinge. The device also features Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass to prevent long-term deformation, with durability tested up to 600,000 folds.
The Find N6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and includes a 6,000mAh battery. It supports stylus input and offers a slim design, measuring under 9mm in thickness.
As Apple prepares to enter the foldable market with its anticipated iPhone Fold, expected in 2026, the Find N6 sets a high standard. Reports suggest Apple is focusing on reducing the display crease, aiming for a depth under 0.15mm, and may use a new display stack with integrated touch sensors to enhance durability.
The Find N6's advancements in foldable technology highlight the evolving competition in the smartphone market, emphasizing the importance of innovation in design and user experience.
