Krotos Unveils Video to Sound Integration for Adobe Premiere Pro at NAB 2026

Summary

Krotos introduces a new integration for Adobe Premiere Pro, enabling editors to generate and place sound design elements directly within the timeline.

At NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, Krotos announced a forthcoming integration for Adobe Premiere Pro that allows editors to utilize the company's Video to Sound technology directly within the editing timeline. This feature enables the generation and placement of initial sound design elements without exiting the project environment.

Traditionally, sound design is addressed post-picture lock or necessitates switching between multiple tools, potentially hindering the editing process. Krotos' integration aims to streamline this by analyzing footage and generating sound elements—such as ambience, transitions, impacts, and Foley—from professionally recorded sound libraries, placing them directly into the timeline as editable audio. Unlike generative approaches, all sounds are derived from real recordings created by professional sound designers, providing consistent, production-ready results that can be refined as needed.

"Editors increasingly need to move quickly while still maintaining creative control," said Orfeas Boteas, CEO of Krotos. "By bringing video-to-sound directly into the editing workflow, we are reducing the need to switch between tools and making it easier to build and refine sound as part of the edit."

Once generated, audio elements remain fully editable within the timeline. Editors can adjust timing, intensity, and variation, or regenerate specific elements without starting from scratch. This allows sound to be incorporated earlier in the editing process, helping teams evaluate pacing, transitions, and overall impact while cutting picture.

The Premiere Pro integration is scheduled for release in May 2026, with early access and ongoing updates planned. Krotos will demonstrate the integration at NAB Show 2026 (April 18–22, Las Vegas Convention Center), where attendees can preview it alongside the company’s flagship software, Krotos Studio.

Krotos develops sound design software used across film, TV, and games, including productions such as Game of Thrones, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Stranger Things. The company focuses on making sound design faster, more intuitive, and more fun, without removing creative control. Its tools are built on real recordings and designed for professional results at any level of experience.

Krotos Studio and its video-to-sound technology allow editors to analyze footage, generate a synchronized sound bed, and refine it with precision. Integrations with major DAWs and NLEs ensure sound design fits seamlessly into existing workflows.

Krotos’ goal is simple: change the way people design sound.
