Prof. Hutchinson underscored the University's dedication to fostering dialogue and practical solutions to shared challenges, ensuring Kenya remains competitive on the global stage. Dr. Swaika highlighted India’s willingness to support the modernization of university staff housing, a move designed to attract top international scholars and enhance the institution’s prestige.
The visit featured the inauguration of the India Corner at the Mahatma Gandhi Graduate Library, with the Indian Embassy donating 100 books to promote appreciation for Indian culture and values. A respectful tribute at the Mahatma Gandhi statue underscored the enduring cultural ties and mutual respect between Kenya and India.
The day’s events concluded with the launch of the Nairobi–New Delhi Dialogue at the Chandaria Auditorium, themed “Reimagining Kenya–India Relations.” The forum brought together students, scholars, diplomats, and experts to discuss trade, digital innovation, education, and cultural connections, all with an eye toward advancing national interests and economic growth.
