Hands-on Video Shows Galaxy Z Flip 7 Cover Display
A video provides a look at the Galaxy Z Flip 7's expanded cover screen and addresses questions about its display area.
One of the main updates for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 compared to earlier models is a larger edge-to-edge cover screen. A short hands-on video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by andrei_eclynoh demonstrates this cover screen in use.
This video also addresses a question regarding the display area next to the cameras, now that the cover screen covers the entire top half. When navigating through cover screen pages and widgets, this area displays the date and time. There is also a white dot, which may indicate unread notifications.
It is possible that this area will also be used to display the Now Bar during supported activities, such as music playback and timer countdowns. However, confirmation will require the official announcement of the phone or additional detailed information.
The video also shows the Flip 7's foldable display. Samsung has increased the inner display size to 6.9 inches, compared to 6.7 inches on previous models. The borders around the screen, which provide protection when the device is folded, appear to be the same size as before.
Regarding design, reports indicate that the Flip 7 is 0.8mm thinner when folded and 0.4mm thinner when unfolded compared to the Flip 6. However, these differences are not easily noticeable in the video without a direct side-by-side comparison. Further evaluation will be possible after the Flip 7 is officially released.
