Apple Watch Ultra 3 Expected to Launch With Two Notable Upgrades
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is anticipated to launch soon, with reported features including satellite connectivity and 5G support.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to launch later this year, with reports indicating it may include satellite connectivity and 5G support.
New Features
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is on schedule for release this year and may introduce new features such as satellite connectivity. This feature would allow users to send text messages when Wi-Fi and cellular coverage are unavailable, and it would function without requiring an iPhone.
Gurman also indicated that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to support a version of 5G designed for smartwatches. Current Ultra models support LTE.
Previous Updates
In the previous year, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 introduced a black titanium case option. Other than this, the Ultra model has not received hardware updates since 2023.
Additional Potential Upgrades
Other possible improvements for the Apple Watch Ultra 3 include: - An S10 chip or newer - Faster charging - A wide-angle OLED display that is brighter when viewed from an angle - A higher refresh rate for the always-on display mode
These features were previously introduced on the Apple Watch Series 10.
Blood Pressure Monitoring Feature
In March, Gurman reported that Apple was still addressing challenges with a planned blood pressure monitoring feature for the Apple Watch. It is uncertain if this feature will be available in time for the Ultra 3 launch, which is expected in a little over two months.
