Apple Introduces MacBook Neo, iPhone 17e, and New iPad Air

Summary

Apple has unveiled the MacBook Neo, a budget-friendly laptop starting at $599, alongside the iPhone 17e and an updated iPad Air.

Apple has expanded its product lineup with the introduction of the MacBook Neo, a new entry-level laptop priced at $599 in the United States. The MacBook Neo features a 13-inch display, is powered by the A18 Pro chip, and offers storage options of 256GB and 512GB. It is available in four colors: blush, indigo, silver, and citrus. Pre-orders begin today, with availability starting March 11.

In addition to the MacBook Neo, Apple announced the iPhone 17e, which maintains the design of its predecessor but includes the A19 chip, MagSafe for magnetic wireless charging, and doubles the base storage to 256GB. The iPhone 17e starts at $599 in the U.S. and will be available for pre-order on March 4, with availability beginning March 11.

Apple also introduced an updated iPad Air equipped with the M4 chip, 12GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi 7 support. The new iPad Air retains the design of the previous model and will be available for pre-order on March 4, with availability starting March 11.

These announcements come amid price adjustments to Apple's existing laptop lineup. The MacBook Air now starts at $1,799 in Australia, reflecting a $100 increase, while the base model MacBook Pro has seen a $200 price increase to $2,699, with both models receiving hardware upgrades.

Analyst Jacob Bourne from Emarketer commented on Apple's strategy, stating, "Affordability in this case is a calculated bet that winning market share is worth absorbing near-term margin pressure."

All new products are set to launch on March 11, with pre-orders available starting March 4.
