Bitcoin Price Falls to 15-Month Low Amid Market Volatility
Bitcoin's value has declined to its lowest point since October 2024, reflecting broader market uncertainties and investor concerns.
Bitcoin's price has dropped to approximately $66,000, marking its lowest level since October 2024. This represents a 24% decrease since the beginning of the year. The decline follows a period of significant gains, with Bitcoin reaching an all-time high of $122,200 in October 2025.
The downturn coincides with President Donald Trump's pro-cryptocurrency policies, including the establishment of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in March 2025. Despite these initiatives, the market has experienced increased volatility. Analysts from Deutsche Bank suggest that the recent price drop may be linked to the nomination of Kevin Warsh as the new chair of the Federal Reserve. They note that traditional investors are losing interest, leading to growing pessimism about cryptocurrencies.
Other cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum and Solana, have also seen declines of approximately 37% in 2026. According to CoinGecko, the cryptocurrency market has lost over $1 trillion in value in the past month and $2 trillion since its peak in October 2025.
