Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Joins APC, Citing State's Development

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant political shift in the state. The formal announcement was made during a reception in Jalingo, the state capital, where APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda welcomed the governor into the party.

Yilwatda emphasized the strategic benefits of this alignment, stating that Taraba State would gain substantially by being in sync with the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. He encouraged others to follow Governor Kefas's example for the state's development.

Governor Kefas expressed that his decision was driven by the desire to connect Taraba State more closely with the central government, aiming to deliver better services to the people. He highlighted the importance of unity among residents to achieve the administration's goals.

Vice President Kashim Shettima also attended the event, describing the governor's move as a positive step and urging the people of Taraba to support Kefas in his efforts to bring development to the state.

The defection ceremony attracted numerous political figures, including APC governors, National Assembly members, ministers, and other party leaders, underscoring the significance of this political realignment in Taraba State.
