UAE and US Discuss Regional Crises and Bilateral Relations

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss the strong strategic relations between their countries and key regional developments.

During the call, they reviewed the current situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of supporting the objectives of the 'Board of Peace' and implementing US President Donald Trump's plan in all its obligations and phases. Both officials stressed the need to enhance the humanitarian response to alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza.

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to working closely with the United States and regional and international partners to consolidate lasting peace and stability in the region, ensuring dignified living conditions and development opportunities for its peoples.

The conversation also addressed the tragic developments in Sudan's civil war, highlighting the importance of reaching an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and transitioning to an independent civilian government free from the control of the warring parties.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed developments in Yemen and the importance of countering the threat posed by Iranian regime-backed Houthi terrorists.

"The Secretary and the Foreign Minister continued their engagement on Sudan and the urgent need for a humanitarian ceasefire," the US State Department stated.

The discussions underscored the shared commitment of the UAE and the US to address pressing regional issues and strengthen their strategic partnership.
