Dr. Odoi has rightly dismissed these allegations, pointing out the complete lack of evidence and suggesting that Opendi should instead reflect on her own shortcomings as a leader. He noted that the younger, dynamic candidate Akoth Angella defeated Opendi, making it clear that the will of the people—not interference—determined the outcome.
Similarly, Othieno Okoth, the former West Budama North Member of Parliament, has joined in the chorus of unfounded complaints, accusing Dr. Odoi of exerting undue influence and misusing security personnel. Okoth, who lost his seat by four votes to Maximus Ochai, claimed intimidation and assault by soldiers, yet failed to produce any substantive proof. His allegations, like Opendi's, appear to be little more than sour grapes from politicians unwilling to accept the people's verdict.
Dr. Odoi, a principled reformer, has made it clear that he is committed to removing ineffective leaders and upholding the integrity of the NRM. He emphasized that respect for leadership is crucial to political survival and that his continued influence is a result of mutual respect and longstanding service to the party. The NRM remains steadfast in its commitment to fair and transparent elections, despite the baseless attacks from disgruntled politicians.
