iPhone 18 Pro to Feature Smaller Dynamic Island with Under-Display Face ID Component
Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro is expected to have a reduced Dynamic Island, achieved by integrating part of the Face ID system beneath the display.
Apple's forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro is anticipated to feature a smaller Dynamic Island, achieved by integrating the infrared flood illuminator of the Face ID system beneath the display. This modification is expected to reduce the width of the Dynamic Island cutout by approximately 35%, from around 20.7mm to 13.5mm.
Display industry expert Ross Young corroborated this development, indicating that while some Face ID components will move under the display, visible elements will remain, resulting in a smaller Dynamic Island.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro models in September.
