Prince Harry Testifies Against Associated Newspapers Over Alleged Privacy Breaches
Prince Harry testified in London's High Court, alleging that Associated Newspapers engaged in unlawful information gathering, causing distress to him and his wife, Meghan.
Prince Harry appeared in London's High Court on Wednesday, providing testimony in his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. He, along with six other public figures, including Sir Elton John and actress Elizabeth Hurley, accuses the company of engaging in unlawful information gathering over two decades.
During his testimony, Prince Harry expressed the emotional toll the alleged media intrusion has taken on him and his family. He stated that the publisher's actions have made his wife's life "an absolute misery" and described the experience as "horrible."
The articles in question, published between 2001 and 2013, reportedly contained intimate details about Harry's personal life, including his romantic relationships and feelings about his mother's death. He described reading these articles as a "recurring traumatic experience" and accused the media of "commercializing" his life since childhood.
Associated Newspapers has denied all allegations, asserting that their articles were based on legitimate journalistic work and information from Harry's social circles. The trial is expected to last over two months, with Prince Harry being the first of the claimants to provide evidence.
