Arkansas Ticket Wins $1.817 Billion Powerball Jackpot
A single ticket sold in Arkansas has won the $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot in the Christmas Eve drawing, marking the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
A single ticket sold in Arkansas matched all six numbers in the Powerball drawing on December 24, securing a $1.817 billion jackpot. The winning numbers were 4, 25, 31, 52, 59, and the Powerball 19. This marks the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history and the largest Powerball jackpot of 2025. The winner can choose between an annuitized prize of $1.817 billion, paid over 30 years, or a lump sum payment of $834.9 million.
"Congratulations to the newest Powerball jackpot winner! This is truly an extraordinary, life-changing prize," said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO.
This win ends a series of 46 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, the longest streak in Powerball history. The previous jackpot was won on September 6, when players in Missouri and Texas shared a $1.787 billion prize.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
