Vince Zampella, a prominent figure in the video game industry and co-creator of the 'Call of Duty' franchise, died on December 21, 2025, at the age of 55 in a car crash on Angeles Crest Highway in Los Angeles County.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. near mile marker 62. The vehicle, a red 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS, veered off the roadway, struck a concrete barrier, and caught fire. Zampella, the driver, was trapped inside and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was ejected from the vehicle and later died at a hospital.
