Emails Suggest 'A' at Balmoral Sought 'Inappropriate Friends' from Ghislaine Maxwell
Newly released emails from 2001 and 2002 indicate that an individual identified as 'A,' writing from Balmoral, requested 'inappropriate friends' from Ghislaine Maxwell, with contextual clues pointing to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Recently disclosed emails from 2001 and 2002 reveal correspondence between Ghislaine Maxwell and an individual identified as "A," who wrote from Balmoral, the British royal family's Scottish residence. In an email dated August 16, 2001, "A" inquired whether Maxwell had "found me some new inappropriate friends." Maxwell responded, "So sorry to disappoint you, however the truth must be told. I have only been able to find appropriate friends."
The emails, part of a trove released by the U.S. Department of Justice, are signed "A" and originate from an email address associated with the alias "The Invisible Man." While the sender is not explicitly identified as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, contextual details such as references to Balmoral, the Royal Navy (which Andrew left in July 2001), and the death of a longtime valet align with known events in his life. In a subsequent email, "A" mentioned, "I have left the RN and now my whole life is in turmoil as I have no one to look after me."
Further emails from February and March 2002 discuss arrangements for a trip to Peru, including potential meetings with "girls." Maxwell forwarded correspondence to "A," stating that "Andrew" would like to do some "sight seeing (read intelligent pretty fun and from good families)." She added, "I know I can rely on you to show him a wonderful time and that you will only introduce him to friends that you can trust and rely on to be friendly and discreet and fun." Photographs from March 2002 show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor visiting Peru, suggesting he undertook the trip discussed in the emails.
There is no suggestion of wrongdoing in the emails. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has previously denied all allegations against him. The release of these documents is part of ongoing disclosures related to the late Jeffrey Epstein and his associates.
