The Powerball jackpot has risen to an estimated $1.7 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in the December 22 drawing. The winning numbers were 3, 18, 36, 41, 54, and the red Powerball 7.

Two tickets sold in New York matched five numbers, each winning $1 million. One was purchased at a newsstand at 45 Pine St. in Manhattan, and the other at a Shell gas station at 100 W. Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream, Nassau County. These were among nine $1 million winners nationwide, with other tickets sold in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

The upcoming drawing on December 24 will be the 47th in the current jackpot run, setting a game record for the most drawings in a jackpot cycle. The Powerball jackpot was last won on September 6 by two tickets in Missouri and Texas that split a $1.787 billion prize.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
