Powerball Jackpot Reaches $1.5 Billion After No Winner in Latest Drawing
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.5 billion following Wednesday's drawing without a grand prize winner.
The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1.5 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing. The winning numbers were 25, 33, 53, 62, 66, and the red Powerball 17. The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
This jackpot ranks as the fifth-largest in Powerball history and the seventh-largest among U.S. lottery jackpots. The cash value of the prize is estimated at $686.5 million before taxes.
While the grand prize remained unclaimed, several players secured significant winnings. Two tickets, sold in Arizona and Massachusetts, matched five numbers plus the Power Play option, each winning $2 million. Additionally, six tickets matched five numbers without the Power Play, earning $1 million each. These tickets were sold in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and three in New York.
Powerball is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Players select five white ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
The last Powerball jackpot was won on September 6, when a $1.787 billion prize was split between tickets sold in Missouri and Texas, marking the second-largest jackpot in the game's history.
Players are reminded to check their tickets carefully, as many prizes remain unclaimed. The next drawing will be broadcast live from the Florida Lottery's studio in Tallahassee and streamed on the official Powerball website.
