Inside Ukraine's Killhouse Academy: Training Civilians and Soldiers in Drone Warfare
Killhouse Academy in Ukraine provides comprehensive drone operation training to civilians and military personnel, enhancing the country's defense capabilities.
In a repurposed warehouse at an undisclosed location in Ukraine, Killhouse Academy is training both civilians and military personnel in drone operations. The facility offers courses on piloting First-Person-View (FPV) drones, which have become crucial in modern warfare. Trainees engage in computer simulations and practical exercises to master drone navigation and target acquisition.
An instructor, identified by the call sign "DC," emphasized the importance of composure and precision in drone piloting. "You have to be calm, you cannot see a target and, for example, rush to it like a bull. You have to be able to be thinking and watching and detecting your target," DC explained. He highlighted the strategic advantage of unmanned systems, stating, "To save lives, to save money and time, you have to become unmanned. Because if you use manpower, it will only get you so far."
The academy's curriculum includes both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for real-world scenarios. This initiative reflects Ukraine's commitment to integrating advanced technology into its defense strategy, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and safety on the battlefield.
