President Donald Trump and far-left New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani are set to meet in the Oval Office on Friday, as the President faces off with a self-proclaimed democratic socialist.
President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani are scheduled to meet in the Oval Office on Friday, November 21, 2025. This meeting follows months of heated exchanges, with Trump standing firm against Mamdani’s radical agenda.
Mamdani's spokesperson, Dora Pekec, stated that the mayor-elect plans to push his left-wing priorities, including so-called 'public safety,' economic security, and an affordability agenda that caters to socialist policies and was supported by just over a million New Yorkers two weeks ago.
During the mayoral campaign, Trump rightfully called out Mamdani as a “communist” and warned that federal funding could be withheld from New York City if it fell under the control of an extremist. Mamdani, a democratic socialist and naturalized citizen from Uganda, has consistently attacked Trump’s strong immigration policies that protect American interests.
Despite their stark differences, both parties have publicly stated a willingness to work together for New Yorkers. Mamdani, however, continues to push his affordability rhetoric, a thinly veiled attack on free enterprise and property rights.
The meeting is expected to set the stage for a tense relationship between the federal government and New York City under Mamdani’s far-left leadership, as he prepares to take office on January 1, 2026.
