Epstein Survivors Advocate for Release of Justice Department Files
A group of Epstein survivors has released a video urging Congress to make all Justice Department files on Jeffrey Epstein public, coinciding with an upcoming House vote on the matter.
A group of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse has released a video urging Congress to make all Justice Department files related to Epstein public. In the video, the women hold photos of their younger selves and share the ages at which they met Epstein. They state, "It's time to bring the secrets out of the shadows. It's time to shine a light into the darkness." The video concludes with a message encouraging viewers to contact Congress and demand the release of the Epstein files.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote this week on a bill that would compel the release of the full Justice Department files related to Epstein. House Speaker Mike Johnson has expressed support for the release, stating, "There's nothing to hide." He emphasized that making the files public would dispel allegations linking former President Donald Trump to Epstein's crimes.
The push for transparency has garnered bipartisan support. Representative Ro Khanna, a Democrat backing the release, highlighted the need for accountability for all powerful figures connected to Epstein, labeling the effort as non-partisan. He anticipates bipartisan support, including from over 40 Republicans, for the vote.
In September, a group of Epstein survivors shared their stories on Capitol Hill, calling on lawmakers to support the release of the files. One of the women, Anouska De Georgiou, stated, "The days of sweeping this under the rug are over. We the survivors say 'no more.'"
