Disney and YouTube TV Resolve Dispute, Restore Channels After Two-Week Blackout
Disney and YouTube TV have reached a multi-year agreement, ending a two-week blackout of channels including ABC and ESPN.
Disney and YouTube TV have reached a multi-year agreement, ending a two-week blackout that began on October 30, 2025. The dispute had resulted in the removal of Disney-owned channels, including ABC, ESPN, FX, and National Geographic, from the streaming platform.
Under the new agreement, Disney's full suite of networks and stations have been restored to YouTube TV subscribers. Additionally, ESPN's new direct-to-consumer service, ESPN Unlimited, will be made available at no additional cost to YouTube TV subscribers by the end of 2026.
The blackout had disrupted access to major sports events and news programming, including college football games and "Monday Night Football." Both companies expressed satisfaction with the resolution. Disney stated, "We are pleased that our networks have been restored in time for fans to enjoy the many great programming options this weekend, including college football."
YouTube TV subscribers should see the channels returning to their service over the course of the day, along with any recordings that were previously in their library. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
