Disney and YouTube TV Remain at Impasse Over Carriage Agreement
Disney and YouTube TV continue their carriage dispute, leaving subscribers without access to Disney-owned channels, including ABC and ESPN.
Disney and YouTube TV have yet to resolve their carriage dispute, resulting in the continued absence of Disney-owned channels such as ABC and ESPN from the streaming platform. The blackout began on October 30, 2025, after the two companies failed to renew their distribution agreement.
In response to the service disruption, YouTube TV announced it will issue a $20 credit to all subscribers. The company stated, "We know it’s been disappointing to lose Disney channels, and in light of the disruption, we’re offering our subscribers a $20 credit."
The dispute has drawn attention from federal authorities. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr urged both parties to resolve their differences, emphasizing the public’s right to access paid content, especially popular programming like football.
Analysts estimate that Disney is losing approximately $4.3 million per day due to the blackout. Additionally, a survey suggests that YouTube TV could lose nearly a quarter of its subscribers if the dispute continues.
Both companies have expressed a desire to reach a fair agreement but remain at an impasse over terms. As negotiations continue, subscribers are left without access to Disney's programming on YouTube TV.
