Yankees Rally from Five-Run Deficit to Win ALDS Game 3 Against Blue Jays
The New York Yankees overcame a five-run deficit to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-6 in Game 3 of the American League Division Series, with Aaron Judge's three-run homer playing a pivotal role.
Facing elimination in Game 3 of the American League Division Series, the New York Yankees rallied from a 6-1 deficit to secure a 9-6 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.
Aaron Judge played a pivotal role, delivering a three-run home run in the fourth inning off a 99.7 mph fastball from Toronto reliever Louis Varland. The 373-foot shot off the left-field foul pole tied the game at 6-6.
Judge's performance was instrumental, as he went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and scored three times. His postseason tally now stands at 11 hits, the most by a Yankee through the club's first six postseason games since Hideki Matsui and Alex Rodriguez each had 11 in 2004.
The Yankees' bullpen held the Blue Jays scoreless over the final 6 2/3 innings after starter Carlos Rodón allowed six runs in just over two innings. Tim Hill earned the win, while David Bednar recorded a five-out save.
With the series now at 2-1 in favor of Toronto, Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees will start rookie Cam Schlittler, while the Blue Jays plan to employ a bullpen game.
