Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Version 25H2 with Enhanced Security and Performance
Microsoft has begun rolling out Windows 11 version 25H2, focusing on improved security, performance, and stability, with a streamlined installation process.
Microsoft has initiated the phased rollout of Windows 11 version 25H2, the latest feature update for its operating system. This update emphasizes enhanced security measures, performance improvements, and system stability. Notably, the installation process has been streamlined, requiring only a single restart to complete.
John Cable, Vice President of Product Management for Windows Servicing and Delivery, highlighted the security advancements: "Version 25H2 includes significant advancements in build and runtime vulnerability detection, coupled with AI-assisted secure coding."
The update also introduces support for Wi-Fi 7, Quick Machine Recovery to address boot issues, and refinements to the Taskbar, File Explorer, and Task Manager. These features aim to provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
Users can obtain Windows 11 version 25H2 by navigating to Settings > Windows Update and enabling the option to receive the latest updates as soon as they're available. If the update is ready for the device, it will download and install automatically, requiring only a single restart to complete the process.
While the update brings numerous enhancements, Microsoft has acknowledged two known issues. Some applications may experience problems playing protected content through digital TV and Blu-Ray or DVD applications. Additionally, in enterprise environments, installing an MSU file from a network share containing multiple files of the same type might trigger an error. Microsoft is actively working on resolutions for these issues.
The rollout of Windows 11 version 25H2 is expected to continue over the coming months, reaching all eligible devices in due course.
