Prosecutors Seek Over 11-Year Sentence for Sean 'Diddy' Combs on Prostitution Convictions
Federal prosecutors recommend a sentence exceeding 11 years for Sean 'Diddy' Combs following his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Federal prosecutors have recommended that Sean "Diddy" Combs serve more than 11 years in prison after his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
In a 189-page submission to Judge Arun Subramanian, U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton described Combs, 55, as "unrepentant" and argued for a sentence of no less than 135 months' imprisonment.
Combs was acquitted of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges in July but was found guilty of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits interstate transportation for prostitution. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.
The prosecution's submission includes letters from former employees and associates urging a stringent sentence. Cassie Ventura, Combs's former girlfriend, detailed in a letter the degrading nature of the events, stating they left her with infections, illnesses, and emotional exhaustion.
Combs's legal team has requested a sentence of no more than 14 months, equivalent to his time already served since his arrest in September 2024. They argue that his celebrity status and legacy have been destroyed.
Judge Subramanian is scheduled to impose the sentence on October 3.
