Woman Files Lawsuit Over Injuries on Epic Universe's Stardust Racers Ride
A Central Florida woman has filed a lawsuit alleging injuries sustained on the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal's Epic Universe, the same ride where a man was found unresponsive and later died earlier this month.
A Central Florida woman has initiated legal action against Universal City Development, claiming injuries from the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal's Epic Universe. This is the same ride where, earlier this month, 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala was found unresponsive and subsequently died. The Orange County Medical Examiner's Office attributed his death to multiple blunt impact injuries and ruled it accidental.
The plaintiff, 49-year-old Sandi Streets, alleges that during her ride on April 30, her head shook violently and slammed against the seat's headrest. She contends that Universal failed to provide adequate head restraints, leading to her injuries. Streets is seeking damages and has requested a jury trial to determine appropriate compensation.
Universal Orlando Resort President Karen Irwin stated that the ride was functioning properly when Rodriguez Zavala was on it. The Ben Crump Law Firm has initiated an investigation on behalf of Rodriguez Zavala's family to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
Universal has not responded to requests for comment regarding the new lawsuit.
