Harley-Davidson unveils Sprint 440 cruiser at EICMA 2026

Summary

Harley-Davidson revealed the 440cc Sprint cruiser, featuring a low seat height and modern equipment, with a global rollout slated to begin in 2027.

Harley-Davidson unveiled its new Sprint 440 cruiser at the EICMA 2026 show in Milan. The model, priced from £4,995 (about Rs. 6 lakh) in the United Kingdom, is positioned as an entry-level option in the brand’s lineup. It will be launched in the United States in spring 2027, with final assembly at the company’s York, Pennsylvania plant, and will roll out to other markets thereafter.

The bike is powered by a 440 cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 26.7 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed transmission with an assist-and-slipper clutch. Harley-Davidson states the engine achieves fuel consumption of up to 34 kmpl under combined conditions.

Key specifications include a seat height of 671 mm, a curb weight of about 189 kg, and a 9-litre fuel tank. The chassis features 43 mm upside-down front forks with 130 mm of travel, twin rear shock absorbers with seven-step preload adjustment, and standard ABS with a 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc. Wheels are cast aluminium, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, fitted with 100/90 and 150/60 tyres respectively.

The design incorporates a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular headlamp, stepped seat, single exhaust, and machined aluminium wheels, available in Dark Billiard Grey, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder. A 3.5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster provides speed, revs, fuel level and trip information, complemented by full-LED lighting and a USB-C charging port.

Optional accessories include a detachable windscreen, saddlebags, passenger backrest, engine guard and alternative handlebars. Harley-Davidson also offers Reach and Tallboy seat options to accommodate riders of different heights.

While the Sprint 440 shares its name with a model first introduced in 1961, the current version combines traditional cruiser styling with dimensions intended to appeal to newer riders. The company has not announced a launch date or pricing for the Indian market, despite collaboration with Hero MotoCorp on development.
