Tovah Feldshuh Addresses Rumors of On-Set Tension Over Political Disagreements

Summary

Tovah Feldshuh has dismissed rumors of tension on the set of 'Nobody Wants This' following Adam Brody's controversial comments regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Tovah Feldshuh, who stars in the Netflix series 'Nobody Wants This,' has publicly addressed speculation about on-set tensions related to Adam Brody's statements supporting a free Palestine. Brody's remarks, which included calling Israel's actions in Gaza a genocide, sparked a public disagreement with show creator Erin Foster.

In a recent post on Threads, Feldshuh, 77, who plays Brody's mother in the series, stated, "Tensions are NOT RISING. Profound differences of opinion are. Please do not conflate the two — And none of it will be brought to the set." She expressed her enjoyment of filming the show and her hope for a fourth season.

Brody's comments, made during a promotional interview, included a strong condemnation of the situation in Gaza, which he described as reaching a breaking point. His statements drew criticism, including from Feldshuh, who previously remarked that accusing Jewish people of genocide is a dangerous narrative.

Foster later commented on the situation, acknowledging her disagreement with Brody while emphasizing that differing opinions are acceptable. She described the work environment on set as akin to a dinner table where discussions and debates occur. Foster also highlighted her intention for the show to serve as a positive representation of Judaism, stating, "I think it’s so important to have that, and that is what this show is intended to be."
