Summary

President Donald Trump used multiple online rallies on Saturday to boost Republican candidates while his administration suffered fresh court losses and the Secret Service deployed missile-defense systems near his Florida estate amid a “heightened threat environment.”

President Donald Trump addressed voters in a series of virtual rallies from Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, once again leaning on a spectacle of grievance and self-promotion to target supporters in battleground states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania. The events were part of a final push before Election Day, with the president also posting endorsements for Republican candidates on his Truth Social platform.

The administration’s legal efforts to interfere in state election processes have run into fresh setbacks. A federal appeals court on Friday denied a request to stop California from counting roughly 20,000 ballots tied to a list of alleged non-citizen voters, and a separate judge barred the Justice Department from threatening election workers with prosecution in an apparent bid to slow ballot processing.

"Why would they reject fixing Election Fraud? That's like, in the 2020 Rigged and Stolen Election, when we had a great case, but the Supreme Court would not hear it because they said I, the President of the United States of America, had NO STANDING to bring such a case," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Early voting numbers have surged, with nearly 50 million Americans having cast ballots, surpassing the early-voting turnout of the 2022 midterms. The Secret Service reported a “heightened threat environment” and deployed missile-defense systems near Mar-a-Lago and at the recently renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport.

Trump also commented on the toll of the campaign trail, noting his voice was operating at about 49.2 percent after weeks of nonstop travel and rallies.

"I thought this was it. I thought I could relax. Twenty-eight days in a row of this ... is a lot, it’s a lot," he told supporters in Daytona Beach.

The president’s virtual appearances are scheduled to continue, with six telerallies planned from Mar-a-Lago on Saturday.
