Authorities have discovered human remains in a remote wooded area south of Leavenworth, Washington, believed to be those of Travis Decker, the man accused of murdering his three daughters. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office announced that the remains were found during a coordinated search operation involving multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Washington State Patrol, and the FBI.

Sheriff Mike Morrison stated that while positive identification is pending, preliminary findings suggest the remains belong to Decker. The Washington State Patrol's crime scene response team is assisting in processing the area, and DNA analysis will be conducted to confirm the identity.

Decker, 32, had been the subject of a nationwide manhunt since June 2, when the bodies of his daughters—Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5—were found near a campground outside Leavenworth. The discovery came after he failed to return the girls to their mother's home in Wenatchee following a scheduled visit.

The search for Decker had been extensive, with authorities considering the possibility that he had fled the area or perished in the wilderness. Sheriff Morrison noted that Decker's ability to survive in the rugged terrain for an extended period was unlikely, given the challenging conditions.

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has been in contact with the Decker family, providing them with support and updates as the investigation proceeds. They have requested continued privacy and respect for the family during this time.
