Iran's Supreme Leader Calls for Unrestricted IRGC Response to Threats
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei ordered the Revolutionary Guard to expand its target list and prepare an immediate, geographically unrestricted response to any attacks by the United States or Israel.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei instructed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to update its target list, aiming to keep all tangible and intangible assets of the United States and Israel within reach of Iranian forces. In a statement released by the semi-official Nour News Agency, Khamenei said the armed forces must be ready to deliver an "immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response" if enemies resume military or terrorist attacks, adding that Iran will set the timing and terms for ending any new conflicts.
He emphasized that "intelligent combat readiness for a powerful confrontation with enemies" is essential for maximum deterrence, and that every level and type of threat must be met with an effective response without geographical limitations.
At the IISS Manama Dialogue in Bahrain, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty warned that a renewed escalation between the United States and Iran could be more destructive across the Middle East. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump reiterated his stance that the United States will not re-engage in fighting with Iran until after the upcoming midterm elections, while also stating there is no rush to reach a diplomatic agreement.
Qatar’s mediators have been holding talks with Iranian officials, urging a diplomatic path to end the conflict and proposing steps that could bring Washington and Tehran back to negotiations, including allowing United Nations inspectors access to Iran’s nuclear sites that were damaged in recent strikes.
