Toronto real estate CEO and family injured in Bridle Path home invasion

Resumen

A violent home invasion in Toronto's Bridle Path left the CEO of The Mac Group, his wife and two adult daughters injured, and police are seeking three masked suspects.

A home invasion in Toronto's affluent Bridle Path neighbourhood early Thursday left four people injured, including David Morton, the chief executive of The Mac Group, and his wife Doriana Zohil-Morton. Police said three masked men armed with handguns and a hammer forced their way into the residence on Hyde Park Circle around 3:45 a.m., demanding valuables before a violent confrontation ensued.

Victims – a 75-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, a 28-year-old woman and a 64-year-old woman – were shot, and the male victim and the 64-year-old woman were also struck with a hammer. All were taken to hospital, with two remaining in serious condition.

Police described the suspects as approximately 20 years old, wearing dark clothing and face masks, and fleeing the scene in a dark-coloured SUV. They have been labelled "armed and dangerous" and remain at large.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow condemned the attack as unacceptable, while Police Chief Myron Demkiw said the incident has had a "devastating" impact on the family and the community. He pledged that experienced investigators are pursuing leads and that police presence in the area will increase in the coming days.

The incident is the 119th home invasion reported to Toronto police this year, a 32.2% rise compared with the same period in 2025.
