Brown's rep says his only Celtics requests were trade input and equal treatment with Tatum

Summary

Jaylen Brown's representative told ESPN that the player only asked to have a say in his trade destination and to be treated the same as teammate Jayson Tatum, rejecting reports of a demand list.

A spokesperson for Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown told ESPN reporter Kris Rhim that the player's sole request after learning the team intended to trade him was to have input on where he would be sent. The representative added that Brown also asked to be treated equally with fellow star Jayson Tatum while he was in Boston.

The comments follow remarks by former Celtics player Brian Scalabrine, who earlier suggested Brown had presented a list of demands and demanded a trade. Scalabrine later clarified that Brown did not formally demand a trade, saying, "It was, 'Do these things right here or else.' And one of them might have been, 'Give me the $140 million extension.'"

Brown's representative dismissed the trade-demand narrative as "10,000% a lie," emphasizing that the reports were inaccurate.

The exchange comes amid a week of public comments between Brown and Tatum, including Tatum's statement that he holds no animosity toward Brown and Brown's remark that Tatum has a "great PR team." Tatum later declined to comment further on the matter.
