Colts wide receiver Josh Downs reportedly seeks trade before deadline
Reports indicate Indianapolis Colts receiver Josh Downs has asked to be traded, with the team expected to consider options as the NFL trade deadline approaches.
Indianapolis Colts wideout Josh Downs is said to have requested a trade, according to team insider Mike Fowler. > "Fowler maintains the wideout has requested the Colts trade him before the NFL’s trade deadline." The move comes as the Colts have already moved key players such as offensive linemen Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner.
Downs has recorded 26 receptions for 307 yards this season but has not scored a touchdown. Analysts suggest he could attract interest from teams needing receiver depth, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
Despite injuries to teammates Alec Pierce and Keenan Allen, Downs has seen limited target share and red-zone opportunities, leading to speculation that he may be a tradeable asset in the ongoing roster reshuffle.
The trade deadline is approaching, and the Colts are reportedly in a “fire-sale” mode, evaluating several players for potential moves.
