Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, has been unanimously elected as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA, the organization announced on Thursday. This decision follows the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, the organization's co-founder, during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
In a statement, the board highlighted that Charlie Kirk had previously expressed his wish for Erika to lead the organization in the event of his death. The board emphasized their commitment to continuing the organization's mission, stating, "We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on."
Erika Kirk holds a Juris Master's degree in American Legal Studies from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Biblical Studies at the same institution. She is also the founder of Proclaim, a faith-based clothing line, and hosts the podcast "Midweek Rise Up."
A public memorial service for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Prominent political figures, including President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, are expected to attend.
