Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Limit Social Media Use Amid Father's Investigation
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have stepped back from Instagram, citing mental-health concerns while Thomas Markle Sr. faces a child-pornography investigation in the Philippines.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not posting on Instagram, according to royal journalist Andrea Caamano, who said the couple relies on staff to manage their accounts so they can focus on mental-health needs. Caamano added that the duo is currently abroad with their children for the October half-term school break, a timing she described as coincidental rather than an attempt to avoid media attention. She expects the family to return to the United Kingdom later in the week, allowing the children to resume school.
The couple’s reduced public presence follows an investigation into Thomas Markle Sr., 82, in the Philippines after his son reportedly found extensive child-sexual-abuse material among his belongings. Thomas Sr. has denied the allegations, calling them false, while his other daughter, Samantha Markle, defended him and accused Thomas Jr. of fabricating the claims.
Meghan, who has been estranged from her father since 2018, said she has been aware of the accusations for years and that her decision to limit contact with him was intended to protect her children. She also noted her continued focus on family and professional projects, including expanding her brand As Ever and pursuing a role on “Junior MasterChef Australia.”
Page Six has sought comment from Meghan’s representatives.
