Joan Smalls and Candice Swanepoel, both Victoria’s Secret Angels, are reported to have ended a 15-year friendship after Swanepoel started a relationship with Tom Brady, a former partner of Smalls. Sources say Smalls, who dated Brady on and off for about a year, reacted strongly, telling mutual acquaintances to choose between the two models.
Swanepoel’s representative, Amanda Ruisi, said the model has kept her personal life private and that she respects her history with Smalls.
According to a gossip account, the two models have been friends since their early careers, but the new romance sparked a public dispute on social media, with Smalls posting comments that described Swanepoel as a “backstabber” and expressing disappointment in the friendship.
Brady, who divorced Gisele Bündchen in 2022, is reported to have been dating Swanepoel since May, after being introduced by mutual friends. The couple’s relationship has been described as lasting several months.
