Jackson Chourio shines as Brewers dominate Game 3 of World Series

Summary

Jackson Chourio recorded four hits, including a key double, as the Milwaukee Brewers routed the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 to take a 3-0 lead in the World Series.

Milwaukee extended its lead in the best-of-seven World Series to 3-0 after a 10-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3 on Monday. The Brewers amassed 16 hits and ten runs, while the Rays managed just one run on three hits.

Jackson Chourio, 22, was instrumental for Milwaukee, reaching base four times with a line-drive single to start the game, two additional singles, and a double that helped spark an eight-run fifth inning. He finished the game with two runs and an RBI.

"Yeah, I think that you could say this is one of my better games," Chourio said after the game. "I was just taking every at-bat like it could be my last and trying to find any way I could get on base. Because I know, as long as I get on base, there's guys behind me who could score."

The performance made Chourio the youngest player to record a four-hit World Series game since Joe Garagiola in 1946.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy praised Chourio’s all-around play, noting his defensive work, base-stealing and work ethic.

"Nobody's surprised that Jack Jack's doing this. He's turning into a fine player. He's understanding what it takes, the discipline that it takes. He's coming into his own. He's just really, really good," Murphy said.

Milwaukee’s dominance continued its postseason run, having already swept the National League Championship Series. The team’s roster combines veteran contributors, such as Jake Bauers, with emerging talent like Chourio, who is under contract through the 2031 season with options extending to 2033.
